The Print order options determine the order in which the selected documents are processed in the batch operation.

BOM/current order

Process documents in the order they currently are in the SOLIDWORKS Bill of Materials. For consideration of the structure hierarchy levels, ATR CustomTools provides the following options:

  • Level by level: Process components grouped by their BOM levels. The top-level components are processed first, then their top-level components, and so on.
  • Subassemblies first: All components are processed in the same order as shown in the Documents to Process list, from top to bottom.
Alphabetically Select the Alphabetically option to process the documents in alphabetical (A-Z) order. Select the Use descending order option to process documents in inverted alphabetical order (Z-A).
By property value Select the By property value option to sort document processing by the value of the selected Property (A-Z). Select the Use descending order option to process documents in inverted order (Z-A) by the value of the selected Property.
NOTE: You can sort the document processing order only with the Properties that have the Display in Print/Convert option selected.

The Process drawings options determine how several instances of the same document in the structure are processed by the batch operation.

Process all instances Process all instances of all drawings included and selected in the document structure by the selected batch operation profile.
Process first instance by level Processes only the first instance of the drawing found from the highest level of BOM.
Process first instance recursive Processes only the first instance of the drawing recursively. The first instance is the one found from the document structure, searched from top to bottom.
Template name Name of the Batch Operation Template. Give a unique name for each of your batch operation templates. When an existing Template is opened for editing, the current name of the selected Batch Operation Template appears in the Template name box.
Enable Quick Launch Select this option to add the current Batch Operation Template to the Print/Convert flyout menu in the Command Manager tab for quick launching. Quick Launch will not ask for further user input but immediately executes the template against the active document or selected component.
Print Profile Select the ATR CustomTools Batch Printing profiles to use with the selected template. Available Batch Printing profiles depend on the profiles defined in the Print Properties options.
Batch Conversion Select the ATR CustomTools File Conversion Rules to use with the selected template. Available File Conversion Rules profiles depend on the profiles defined in the File Conversion options.
Tasks

The batch operation Tasks supported by ATR CustomTools. With batch operation Tasks, you may execute features like the Cutting Profile and Bend Sheet against your SOLIDWORKS Drawings referenced by the Sheet Metal parts.

NOTE: The Rebuild task is exclusive, meaning it is the only rule processed by the Batch Operation when selected.
Layer Definition Sets the layer definitions used while printing the drawings. You can set up the layer definitions in ATR CustomTools Layer Definitions options. Layers' visibility in the batch operation output documents is determined based on the layers' visibility set in the Layer Definitions options.

Layer definitions that have the Selected by default option selected in the Layer Definitions options are selected automatically, but those selections can be cleared if necessary.

Empty language layers are ignored in the batch operation.

Overwrite Property Values

Set up new values for the Properties to be written to drawings during batch operation. Properties that have the Enable changing of value in printing option selected in the property's Additional Options are shown in the pane and their values can be changed during batch operation.

NOTE:
  • The Enable changing of value in printing option in the property's Additional Options overrides the Hidden option, so you can also overwrite values of hidden properties in the ATR CustomTools Batch Operation.
  • To overwrite the value of a combination property, you need to inactivate the combination link by clicking the Property linking button associated with the property you want to overwrite in the Overwrite Property Values view of the Batch Operation dialog box.
  • Overwriting values stored in the documents' revision data is not supported in ATR CustomTools batch operations.
  • Changes to the values of the Properties included in the target path or filename of the selected File Conversion rule are also applied to the output files' paths and/or filenames.
Additional Options

The Additional Options tab contains advanced features you may apply to the supported types of files selected in your batch operation.

  • Add quantity: Writes the component quantity in its parent assembly into the desired Drawing scope Property at printing time. The Property where the quantity is written is defined in the ATR CustomTools Batch Jobs options. You can insert the Property containing the quantity value into your drawings by customizing the drawing sheet formats. For further instructions about inserting the quantity value into drawings, see a video available on the ATR CustomTools YouTube channel.
  • Select translation language: Specifies the language of the drawing layer to be used to translate the drawing template. Multilingual model properties in the drawing are also translated into the selected language if the translation exists in the dictionary.
  • Sheet Format action: Determines the reload or change action to apply to the selected drawings' sheet format. Sheet format actions are defined in the Sheet Format Action options of your active ATR CustomTools Profile.
  • Save changes to drawings: Save the changed sheet formats to the source drawing files during the ATR CustomTools batch operation.
NOTE:
  • Changes made to the source document properties during the ATR CustomTools batch operation are not stored in the source files. Therefore, changes in Property values are no longer present in the source files after the batch operation is finished.
  • Selecting the Save changes to files option without selecting any files from the documents list makes all the SOLIDWORKS Drawing files (*.slddrw) in the list as files to be processed, so the Sheet Format Action selected is applied to all files.
  • The Save changes to drawings option is available only if the Add quantities option or any Sheet format action is selected too.
