SOLIDWORKS PDM Settings
With the SOLIDWORKS PDM Settings you can integrate your SOLIDWORKS PDM Vault with your ATR CustomTools Database. Integrating these two systems allows you to work with ATR CustomTools in association with the SOLIDWORKS PDM system.
The SOLIDWORKS PDM Settings options are located in the ATR CustomTools Profile Options.
Select the desired ATR CustomTools product from the table below to display further and product-specific instructions to find the SOLIDWORKS PDM Settings options.

Your SOLIDWORKS PDM Vaults appear as tabs in the SOLIDWORKS PDM Settings options in ATR CustomTools. The selected SOLIDWORKS PDM Vault refers to the tab that is currently active in the SOLIDWORKS PDM Settings options.
| Disable integration to this vault | To disable integration between the selected SOLIDWORKS PDM Vault and your ATR CustomTools database, select this option. |
| Don't duplicate references to CT DB | Select this option to avoid duplicate references in both the SOLIDWORKS PDM Vault database and your ATR CustomTools database. With this option selected, file references are only stored in the SOLIDWORKS PDM Vault database and not written to the ATR CustomTools database. |
| Use serials |
The Serial Numbers available in the selected SOLIDWORKS PDM Vault. In the
Use serials box you can select the PDM Vault Serial Numbers allowed for ATR CustomTools
features. These can be used in ATR CustomTools to generate document codes using the
GetCode button function for Properties and in Projects to get codes for documents.
Code for the document is assigned using the ATR CustomTools New Code dialog box. The SOLIDWORKS PDM Vault Serial Numbers appear in the Sequence box in the dialog with the serial number name and vault name in brackets. Example: The SOLIDWORKS PDM Vault called Design_Vault contains a Serial Number called SN_PDM. The PDM vault's Serial Number appears in the ATR CustomTools New Code dialog box as SN_PDM (Design_Vault). |
Serial Numbers that have been renamed or deleted from the selected SOLIDWORKS PDM Vault through SOLIDWORKS PDM Administration appear in ATR CustomTools with the (Invalid) suffix. Any Serial Number with (Invalid) cannot be used.
Use the File handling options according to the selected Conversions options to set up handling of converted files. These options determine how converted files that already exist in the selected SOLIDWORKS PDM Vault are handled.
The available Conversions tabs in the SOLIDWORKS PDM Settings depend on the File Conversion rules in your ATR CustomTools Profile. When you create a new File Conversion rule, save changes before the new rule appears as a tab in the SOLIDWORKS PDM Settings options.

| Add custom reference from source file to converted document | Select this option to add a reference from the source file to the output file of the Conversion task. |
| Check-in as new version | Check-in the converted file as a new version into the selected SOLIDWORKS PDM Vault. Select this option to always create a new version without removing existing instances. |
| Overwrite current version | Overwrite the existing instance of the converted file in the selected SOLIDWORKS PDM Vault. Select this option to only keep the most recently converted version. |
| Skip if target file exist | Ignore the check-in if the target file already exists in the selected SOLIDWORKS PDM Vault. If selected and the converted file already exists, the check-in action is ignored and the existing file is kept intact. |
The Mapped properties options allow you to associate your document properties located in the SOLIDWORKS PDM Vault with the ATR CustomTools Properties.

the Target variable box. Scope of the ATR CustomTools Properties available depends on the
document types handled by the selected Conversion.
Example: If the selected Conversion is set up to handle only SOLIDWORKS Drawing documents, only the ATR CustomTools Drawing Properties are available. |
