In the Batch Operation Templates options you can setup templates for the CUSTOMTOOLS Batch Operations that are executed through the Print/Convert feature. By the templates you can start up the frequently used batch operation faster as the Batch Operation Template have all necessary Print Profiles, File Conversion Rules, Tasks etc preselected.
The Batch Operation Templates options are located in the CUSTOMTOOLS Profile Options.
Select the desired CUSTOMTOOLS product from the CUSTOMTOOLS Products box to display the further and the product specific instructions to find the Batch Operation Templates options.

From the Templates box, you find the Batch Operation Templates that already exist in your Profile. Manage your Batch Operation Templates with the commands associated to the Templates box.
New | Creates a new Batch Operation Template. Click the New button to start creating new template for batch operations. |
Edit | Opens the selected Batch Operation Template for editing. Settings of the selected template are loaded to the dialog box controls for editing them, on click of the Edit button. |
Delete | Click the Delete button to remove selected Batch Operation Template(s) from your CUSTOMTOOLS Profile. |
Show Summary | Display the settings summary of the selected Batch Operation Template. Using the Show Summary feature you can quickly check through the selections made to the selected Template. |
While editing a Batch Operation Template, the following buttons have a different label and function.
New Save | Creates a new Batch Operation Template. Click the New button to start creating new template for batch operations. |
Edit Discard | Opens the selected Batch Operation Template for editing. Settings of the selected template are loaded to the dialog box controls for editing them, on click of the Edit button. |
Delete Disabled | The Delete button is disabled while you have a Batch Operation Template opened for editing. |
The Print order options determines the order in which the selected documents are being processed on the batch operation.
BOM/current order |
Process documents in order they currently are in the SOLIDWORKS Bill of Materials. For consideration of the structure hierarchy levels, CUSTOMTOOLS provides the following options.

Aplhabetically | Select the Aplhabetically option to process the documents in an aplhabetical (A-Z) order. Select the Use descending order option to process document in an inverted aplhabetical order (Z-A). |
By property value | Select the By property value option to sort documents' processing by value of the selected Property (A-Z). Select the Use descending order option to process document in an inverted order (Z-A) by value of the Property selected in the By property value box. |
NOTE: You can sort the documents' processing order only with the Properties that has the Display in Print/Convert option selected. |
The Process drawings options determines how the several instances of a same document in the structure is processed by the batch operation.
Process all instances | Process all instances of all drawings included and selected in the document structure by the selected batch operation profile. See image |
Process first instance by level | Processes only the first instance of the drawing that was found from the highest level of BOM. |
Process first instance recursive | Processes only the first instance of the drawing recursively. The first instance is the one found from the document structure, searched from top to bottom. See image . |
Template name | Name of the Batch Operation Template. Give an unique name for each of your batch operation templates. When an existing Template is opened for editing, current name of the selected Batch Operation Template appears to the Template name box. |
Print Profile | Select the CUSTOMTOOLS Batch Printing profiles to use by the selected template. Available Batch Printing profiles depends on the profiles defined in the Print Properties options. |
Batch Conversion | Select the CUSTOMTOOLS File Conversion Rules to use by the selected template. Available File Conversion Rules profiles depends on the profiles defined in the File Conversion options. |
Tasks |
The batch operation Tasks supported by CUSTOMTOOLS. With the batch operation Tasks, you may execute features like the Cutting Profile and Bend Sheet against your SOLIDWORKS Drawings referenced by the Sheet Metal parts.
NOTE: The Rebuild task is exclusive meaning it is the only rule processed by the Batch Operation when selected. |
Layer Definition |
Sets the layer definitions used while printing the drawings. You can setup the layer definitions in CUSTOMTOOLS Layer Definitions options. Layers' visibility in the batch operation output documents is determined based on the layers' visibility set in the Layer Definitions options.
Layer definitions that have the Selected by default option selected in the Layer Definitions options are selected automatically but those selections could be cleared if necessary. Empty language layers are ignored on the batch operation. |
Overwrite Property Values |
Setup new values for the Properties to be written to drawings on batch operation. Properties that have the Enable changing of value in printing option selected in the property's Additional Options are shown in the pane and their values could be changed on batch operation.

The Additional Options tab contains advanced features you may apply to the supported types of files selected in your batch operation.

All tabs for setting up the batch operation template are visible by default in the Batch Operation Templates options. You can select the visible tabs and change their order using the (Toolbar Options) button located in the bottom right corner of the Navigation Pane.
You have three basic commands for making changes to the tabs shown in the Batch Operation Templates options.
Show More Buttons | Adds a tab to the navigation pane. If you already have all available tabs visible in the navigation pane, the Show More Buttons button turns disabled. |
Show Fewer Buttons | Removes a tab from the navigation pane. If you already have all available tabs hidden in the navigation pane, the Show Fewer Buttons button turns disabled. |
Navigation Pane Options | Opens the Navigation Pane Options dialog box. Use the Navigation Pane Options to select the visible tabs in the pane and, set them into your desired order. |
