Attributes

Attributes works similar as the SOLIDWORKS document properties but the CustomTools attributes are located in CustomTools Database. Attributes are used to establish data links between the CustomProperties and the SOLIDWORKS document properties. SOLIDWORKS uses the database attributes to store the document properties into the files.


Where to find the Attribute options:

The Attribute options are located in the CustomTools Database Options.

Select the desired CustomTools product from the CustomTools Products box to display the further and the product specific instructions to find the attribute options.

Add Create a new attribute.
Edit Edit selected attribute.
Delete Deletes selected attribute.
Info NOTE: Deleting an attribute that is linked to some CustomProperty the link gets broken and the data cannot be stored to SOLIDWORKS document properties anymore with that link.

In case that some CustomProperty link gets broken by removing an attribute, you can repair the link by creating another attribute and then setting it as an attribute of the certain CustomProperty. The link to between the CustomProperty and an attribute is defined in the Basic Information of the CustomProperty.
