Exclude Invalid Rows |
Excludes the rows having errors from the structure export.
To undo this, you have two ways:
- Reselect the export profile
- Select the desired row in the Structure view, clear the Exclude from BOM option and then click Apply to Files.
|
|
Excluded from BOM |
The selected row is excluded from the BOM and it is also excluded from the output file of the structure export. |
|
Apply to Files |
Applies excluding from the BOM for the selected files. |
You can exclude multiple files from the BOM at once. Multiple files have to be excluded by selecting each file separately from the Structure view and select the Excluded from BOM option. After you have set all the desired files to be excluded from the BOM, click Apply to Files to apply the excluding for the selected files.
The text color on the rows which are excluded from the BOM changes to light gray after you have applied the changes by clicking the Apply changes button.
NOTE: The most top level assembly cannot be excluded from the BOM.
Any parts cannot be excluded from the BOM either, if the main assembly is not open in SOLIDWORKS.

The document structure view shows the structure of the currently selected document. In this case, the selected document means the document that was selected when you clicked the Export command.
The structure shown in the structure view represents the data that is exported with the profile selected in the Export profile box. All the fields defined in the export profiles are shown here by default but the user can affect to the shown columns by right-clicking the table's header row and then selecting or clearing the desired columns.
You can re-arrange the columns shown in the Structure view. Drag the desired column to move it to another place in the view. Re-arranging columns in the Structure view does not affect to the output of the structure export.
Export fields having an invalid value are highlighted in the Structure view with the red background color. Right-click the highlighted row and select What's Wrong to see the further description about the error occurred.
The Always show components of subassemblies ignoring the “Child component display when used as a subassembly” setting option in the CUSTOMTOOLS Export Profile make the Export feature to ignore the Child component display when used as a subassembly option selected in the SOLIDWORKS assembly configurations. In that case, all components in subassemblies that are supported in the Export feature, are shown in the list and they are also included in the export process itself.
NOTE: The Always show components of subassemblies ignoring the “Child component display when used as a subassembly” setting option is not available for the Cloud Connected type of export profiles. For that reason, in case of the Cloud Connected export, the supported components in the subassemblies are shown in the list and exported by respecting the Child component display when used as a subassembly option selected in the SOLIDWORKS assembly configurations.

SOLIDWORKS Bill of Material Options of the Assembly Configuration:
SOLIDWORKS Assembly configurations have the Bill of Materials Options. The Bill of Materials Options of the SOLIDWORKS assembly configurations determine whether or not the child components of an assembly are shown in the BOM while the selected assembly is being used as a sub-assembly.
The CUSTOMTOOLS Export feature also consider the child components' visibility option selected for the assembly configuration referenced in the model structure so the sub-assemblies' child components visibility in the Structure view is determined by the SOLIDWORKS assembly configuration's Bill of Materials Options.
The CUSTOMTOOLS Export feature supports all three (Show, Hide and Promote) options of the SOLIDWORKS assembly configurations. The non-open documents and the lightweight components are also handled.
While you have the SOLIDWORKS PDM in use and the files to Export are located in your SOLIDWORKS PDM Vault, the file versions are being checked. In case there are any differences on the file version of any file to be exported, you get prompted to choose what version of the files to export.
Do this for all |
Select the Do this for all option to apply the same handling method to all files that are not the latest version. |
Get Latest |
Gets the latest version of the file from the PDM system. |
Get As-Built |
Take the version of the file as it was when its' referenced assembly was last time checked in to the PDM Vault. |
Use Local |
The local version of the file is being exported. |
