In association to the Users node of the Database View, you see the existing user of the selected CUSTOMTOOLS database and for the new Windows users, you can setup the default options. The default options of the Windows users applies to the users that logging in to the CUSTOMTOOLS for the very first time using the Windows Login authentication method.

Enable Windows login Enable/Disable the Windows authentication mode of the CUSTOMTOOLS database. While you have this option selected, you can login to the CUSTOMTOOLS database using the Windows user credentials by selecting the Windows Login as the authentication method in the CUSTOMTOOLS Login dialog box. The new Windows users are set up in the database automatically based on the default options set up using the Defaults for new Windows users options described later in this help page.
Disable automatic creation of new users Prevent automatic creation of the new database users from the Windows users. While you have this option selected, the Windows users are not added to the CUSTOMTOOLS database. When you need to get new Windows users to be added to the CUSTOMTOOLS database, clear selection of this option.

NOTE: Currently, you cannot add Windows users manually into the CUSTOMTOOLS database.

The authentication mode selection box is visible in the CUSTOMTOOLS Login dialog box only if the Enable Windows login option is selected. While the Enable Windows login option is selected, you can choose the authentication method in the CUSTOMTOOLS Login dialog box from the following options:

Windows Login Select the Windows Login authentication method to login to the CUSTOMTOOLS database using your Windows user credentials. The Windows Login authentication method is supported in CUSTOMTOOLS since the CUSTOMTOOLS 2019 major version.
CUSTOMTOOLS Login Select the CUSTOMTOOLS Login authentication method to login to the CUSTOMTOOLS database using the CUSTOMTOOLS database users. The CUSTOMTOOLS Login is the only authentication method supported in the CUSTOMTOOLS versions prior to the CUSTOMTOOLS 2019.

If the Enable Windows login option is not selected, the CUSTOMTOOLS Login is used as the authentication method of your CUSTOMTOOLS Database.

Using the Windows Login as the authentication method, the CUSTOMTOOLS Login dialog box does no longer appear on the SOLIDOWORKS startup after the first successful login.



Using the Defaults for new Windows users options you can setup options for the new Windows users added to the CUSTOMTOOLS database. The new Windows users are added to the CUSTOMTOOLS database on the first time the Windows user is logged into the CUSTOMTOOLS database while the automatic creation of the new users is being enabled.

User Options Setup the CUSTOMTOOLS User Options to apply to the new Windows users.
Database Permissions Assign the database level user rights of the new Windows users.
Active Profile Select the CUSTOMTOOLS profile set as active by default for the new Windows users.
Permissions Setup the user rights the new Windows users are about to have to the profile selected in the Active profile box.
Assign to groups Select the CUSTOMTOOLS database user groups that the new Windows users have a membership in by default.

User list contains the following information about the exiting CUSTOMTOOLS database users:

User name The user specific user name.
First name The user's first name.
Last name The user's last name.
Initials User's initials.
User type Type of the user. The user type could be Administrator, CUSTOMTOOLS User or Windows User.
Creation time The date when the user account has been created into the database.
Create New Select this to create a new user.
Refresh Refresh the nodes under the Users node.
