Select Type

Setup the source and target file types of the conversion rule on the Select Type step of the Print & Convert Profile Wizard. With the source file type selection, you can limit documents to process with the file conversion rule by the file type. You can scope a file conversion rule either to SOLIDWORKS Parts (*.prt, *.sldprt), Assemblies (*.asm, *.sldasm) or Drawings (*.drw, *.slddrw).



Source File Type:

PARTS Select the PARTS option to process SOLIDWORKS part documents with your new file conversion rule. The PARTS option can be selected also along with the ASSEMBLIES option.
ASSEMBLIES Select the ASSEMBLIES option to process SOLIDWORKS assembly documents with your new file conversion rule. The ASSEMBLIES option can be selected also along with the PARTS option.
DRAWINGS Select the DRAWINGS option to process SOLIDWORKS drawing documents with your new file conversion rule. The DRAWINGS option cannot be selected along with the PARTS or ASSEMBLIES options.


Output File Type:

Select the desired output file type for your file conversion rule. Please refer to the following table to see what output formats are available and for what source file types using the Print & Convert Profile Wizard.

Info NOTE: The Additional Options of the File Conversion according to the output file type cannot be set up with the simplified Print & Convert Profile Wizard. To setup the Additional Options, use the File Conversion Rule Editor available in the CUSTOMTOOLS File Conversion options.
