Database Management Tools
Microsoft SQL Server 2019 Express is included in the ATR CustomTools package. Microsoft SQL Server is used as the database engine for the ATR CustomTools database, which can be installed with the Server components.
Microsoft SQL Server 2019 Express is installed automatically for ATR CustomTools database purposes if no SQL Server instances are already installed on your ATR CustomTools server computer. If you already have any Microsoft SQL Server instances installed, a new instance is not required since you can use an existing instance with ATR CustomTools as well.
Microsoft SQL Server 2012 is the oldest version of SQL Server supported by ATR CustomTools.
When installing the ATR CustomTools Trial version, the database is automatically installed if no existing ATR CustomTools database is detected.
If Microsoft SQL Server is already installed on the workstation but the database has not been created for ATR CustomTools, the installer only creates the database.
- ATR CustomTools Administration can be used to manage external data source connections, users, user groups, and add-in scripts. With ATR CustomTools Administration, you can also set the active database to be used with ATR CustomTools products. To use ATR CustomTools, you need to have one active database.
- Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio is a free and easy-to-use graphical management tool for administration tasks in your Microsoft SQL Server databases. The Management Studio also allows you to manage database-level user roles and permissions.
When you create a new database for ATR CustomTools, the ATR CustomTools Database Creation Wizard creates a user called ct_admin in the SQL Server. The ct_admin user is used to log in to the database engine.
You can order ATR CustomTools-related SQL Server environment customizations from your ATR CustomTools reseller, or you can make the necessary changes yourself. If you prefer to make changes to SQL Server on your own, please consider the following notes:
- ATR CustomTools manufacturer or resellers are not responsible for any issues caused in the SQL Server environment by the user's own actions. Changes made to SQL Server may require special skills and expertise.
- Issues caused by user actions may be fixable by the ATR CustomTools manufacturer or reseller, but these tasks are not included in the ATR CustomTools maintenance subscription and are always invoiced separately.
