Source Documents For The Properties

The ATR CustomTools Properties Wizard is a simplified tool for creating Properties for storing the metadata from your SOLIDWORKS documents into the ATR CustomTools Database.

With a ATR CustomTools Profile that does not have any Properties already defined on the Model or Drawing scope, you can open the Easy Implementation Property Wizard from the ATR CustomTools Model Properties and Drawing Properties options by clicking the Launch Wizard button.

NOTE: If your ATR CustomTools Profile already has one or more Properties defined in the Model or Drawing Properties, the Easy Implementation Property Wizard cannot be used to add more Properties to the profile. In that case, you can add new Properties using the traditional ATR CustomTools Property Wizard instead.

When Model Property Wizard is launched for the active document, it (and its possible components) will be automatically added to the Source Documents list.

When creating Properties by SOLIDWORKS documents, the following amount of source documents are recommended. Please note that the source document types depend on the scope you are creating the Properties for.

At least one document is always required. If document count is below recommendations for Model Property Wizard, ATR CustomTools will not try to distinguish Part and Assembly scope properties.

Parts (*.sldprt) At least 2-20 SOLIDWORKS Part documents (*.sldprt) are recommended when the Properties are being created in the ATR CustomTools Model Properties scope.
Assemblies (*.sldasm) At least 2-20 SOLIDWORKS Assembly documents (*.sldasm) are recommended when the Properties are being created in the ATR CustomTools Model Properties scope.
Drawings (*.slddrw) At least 2-20 SOLIDWORKS Drawing documents (*.slddrw) are needed when the Properties are being created in the ATR CustomTools Drawing Properties scope.
