Database Server Properties

The System Administrator (sa) user rights are required to Upgrade a CUSTOMTOOLS database and for creating the External Database connections.

So if you are logged in as a user that does not have the user rights for example to upgrade the CUSTOMTOOLS database, the Change User dialog box appears. Use that dialog box to switch the user to one that has the necessary rights. See the related topics for the further information about the user rights.

Server Name Specifies the database server.
Use Windows authentication Select the Use Windows authentication login to CUSTOMTOOLS database server (SQL Server) using credentials of the current Windows user.
Server User Name Specifies the user name.
Server User's Password Specifies the server user password which is used to login to the database server.

If you are using some CUSTOMTOOLS database which is located at some other workstation that belongs to your domain and you are using your Windows user name and password, then you should use the Windows authentication to login to the database Server.
Please notice that the server level user names and passwords are defined in the Microsoft SQL Server. To maintain these credentials, you cannot use CUSTOMTOOLS but, you may use the Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio instead.
