Cloud Connect Export Profile


Profile name Specifies the name of the new export profile.
Profile type Handler type of the selected Export Profile. The profile type should be determined based on the purpose of the Export profile. Select the Cloud Connected option to create an export profile to export structures to the Product Information Cloud system.

To create a conventional export profile for exporting the model structure into an external file or to a information system for which a special export profile type does not exist, select the <General> option from the Profile type box.
ThreeDots Opens the Template Settings dialog box. Use the Template Settings dialog box to define settings in relation to the Excel file template.

NOTE: The ThreeDots button is available only when the selected Profile type is Excel Report.
Connection point Determines the Cloud Connect connection point's URL address.
Organization ID Determines the organization identifier used to login to the Product Information Cloud service.
Login Click the Login button to open the Cloud Connected dialog box. Use the Cloud Connect dialog box to login to the Product Information Cloud service with your credentials associated to the organization identifier entered in the Organization ID box.
Export to Determines the target workspaces where the structure is exported to.

Checkboxes used to select the desired target workspaces have the following three selection states:
  • Selected - The model structure is exported to the selected workspaces without a prompt.
  • Indeterminate - The user gets prompted to choose the target workspaces when the Export process is started in CUSTOMTOOLS.
  • Clear - The workspace is not selected. Any items in the model structure does not get exported to the workspaces that are not selected.

To setup the target workspaces to export model structures with the selected Cloud Connected type of an export profile, you need to login to the Product Information Cloud system to read available workspaces from the system. The login action is performed with help of the Cloud Connected dialog box.

Username User name in the Product Information Cloud system.
Password Password for the Product Information Cloud system user defined in the Username box.
Remember me Select this option to store the login information provided to allow automatic login to the Product Information Cloud system.
Login Accept the login information and attempt to login to the Product Information Cloud system with the credentials provided.
Top level only Process only the documents in the top level of an assembly.
Parts only Process only the part documents of the assemblies.
Indented assemblies Processes all documents which belongs to the same entity.
Accumulate quantities Select this option to calculate the part quantities to the output file based on the most top level document of the assembly structure.

Example: An assembly have two sub-assemblies and both of the sub-assemblies have two parts. When the Accumulate quantities option is selected, the output file show that the structure have one main assembly, two sub-assemblies, and four parts. In same case when the Accumulate quantities option is not selected, the output file show that the structure have one main assembly, two sub-assemblies, and two parts.
Include drawings Select this option to process drawings related to the models in file conversions executed on the structure export.
Display configurations of parts as separate items Separates the different configurations of the document to an individual items.
Display configurations of parts as one item Parts appears as one no matter how many configuration they has.

The Required fields options are used to determine the CUSTOMTOOLS attributes of which values to be linked to the attributes in the Product Information Cloud system to identify the SOLIDWORKS model structure items exported.

'Code' attribute Determines the CUSTOMTOOLS attribute to be linked to the Code attribute in the Product Information Cloud system.
'Code' label Determines the label associated to the Code attribute. Label of the Code field is shown to the user in the CUSTOMTOOLS Export feature's user interface.
'Description' attribute Determines the CUSTOMTOOLS attribute to be linked to the Description attribute in the Product Information Cloud system.
'Description' label Determines the label associated to the Description attribute. Label of the Description field is shown to the user in the CUSTOMTOOLS Export feature's user interface.
NOTE: DO NOT remove the Required fields from the Export Profiles that are being used to export the model structures to the Product Information Cloud system.

Select the desired file conversion rules that you want to be executed against the selected model structure during the structure export.

CUSTOMTOOLS Export Profile could work in association to a CUSTOMTOOLS script add-in. CUSTOMTOOLS script add-ins are maintained using the Manage Scripts feature located in the CUSTOMTOOLS Administration. The script add-ins are very flexible and they could be fully customized based on your needs.

NOTE: CUSTOMTOOLS script add-ins are always implemented by the customer's separate order. For that reason, some extra costs may apply. Please contact the CUSTOMTOOLS Sales Team for the further information.
