button in the Properties pane and in the default Property value options in the CUSTOMTOOLS Projects opens the New Code dialog box used to generate an unique code as the property value.
Sequences allows you to generate next available code from selected number sequence. This can be used to for example generate document and item codes to name individually and automatically your design documents. CUSTOMTOOLS ensures that collapsing codes are not used in multi-user environment. If user first generates a code from sequence and then cancels the operations the canceled code is re-used in order to prevent gaps in sequence.
Document codes could be assigned to the documents also by the CUSTOMTOOLS Projects. To assign document codes by the projects, you can select the default sequence for the selected project using the Default values for parts, Default values for assemblies and, the Default values for drawings tabs in the CUSTOMTOOLS Projects options depending on what scopes you have a property for document code created on.

Specifies the CUSTOMTOOLS Sequence or a Serial Number located in the SOLIDWORKS PDM Vault used to generate the document code. Available sequences depends on your Property settings. By default, all existing sequences in your CUSTOMTOOLS Profile are listed in the Sequence box. In case you want you can determine the available sequences in the Select Content Options page of the Property settings.
Serial Numbers that are located in the SOLIDWORKS PDM Vault appears in the Sequence box in format like SerialNumberName (PDMVaultName). For example, if a SOLIDWORKS PDM Vault called Design_Vault contains a Serial Number called SN_PDM and it is also being selected in the SOLIDWORKS PDM Settings options of CUSTOMTOOLS. The PDM vault's Serial Number appears in the CUSTOMTOOLS New Code dialog box as SN_PDM (Design_Vault). |

Document codes based on the sequences gets reserved when the OK button is clicked on the New Code dialog box. In case that the user have reserved a document code from the sequence and then exited the Properties pane by clicking the 
button, the reserved code stays reserved.
The unused codes that are reserved could be managed under the Unused codes options. Click the 
button to open the options to manage the unused codes that are reserved. The unused reserved document codes appear into the Unused codes list.
In case you have any Unused codes, the first of those codes is used on the next time you take a new document code using a Property which have the sequence associated to. If you do not want to use the Unused codes anymore, you can clean up the Unused codes list with the following controls available in the New Code dialog box:
