Activating CUSTOMTOOLS add-in in SOLIDWORKS

CUSTOMTOOLS Add-In have to be set as an active add-in in SOLIDWORKS to be able to use it.

Applying the SOLIDWORKS Add-in:

  1. Run SOLIDWORKS
  2. Click Tools, Add-Ins.
    The Add-Ins dialog box appears.
  3. Scroll down the Add-ins list and, under Other Add-Ins, select the desired options of CUSTOMTOOLS:
  4. Click OK.
Info NOTE: Only one instance of CUSTOMTOOLS can be activated at the time. So if you have multiple versions of CUSTOMTOOLS installed you cannot set them as active simultaneously. See the following Changing an active CUSTOMTOOLS add-in topic for instructions to change the active CUSTOMTOOLS add-in.

The Login dialog box to the CUSTOMTOOLS database appear if valid database information exist. If the active CUSTOMTOOLS database is not yet set, the Data Vault dialog box appear. Setup the active CUSTOMTOOLS database using the Data Vault dialog box.

The CUSTOMTOOLS toolbar and menu appears into the SOLIDWORKS.

To start CUSTOMTOOLS automatically with SOLIDWORKS, select also the Start Up check box.


Changing an active CUSTOMTOOLS add-in:

If you have multiple versions of CUSTOMTOOLS installed side by side you can change an active one by following these steps:

  1. Start SOLIDWORKS
  2. Click Tools, Add-Ins.
    The Add-Ins dialog box appears.
  3. Scroll down the Add-ins list and under Other Add-Ins, clear all check boxes of the CUSTOMTOOLS version you want to disable.
  4. Click OK and then restart SOLIDWORKS.
    After restarting SOLIDWORKS follow the steps how to activate CUSTOMTOOLS add-in in SOLIDWORKS.
Info TIP: Select the Start Up option associated to the desired CUSTOMTOOLS version and restart SOLIDWORKS to activate the selected version of CUSTOMTOOLS add-in automatically on the next startup of SOLIDWORKS.
