Parent Level Based Document Numbering

This tutorial guides you through how to create a CustomTools sequence which generated number is based on the parent document. As an example in practice, we also go through use case where we create an assembly that parts get their document codes based on their parent documents.

During this tutorial you will use the following CustomTools options and features:

• Sequences options. Options in CustomTools for maintaining your customized document code sequences.
• CustomProperty Wizard. A guided wizard for creating and editing the CustomProperties.
• Properties. Assign the parent document based document codes to the new documents using the Properties feature.

This tutorial is written by using the CustomTools 2015 SP1 version so that you can complete the steps using the CustomTools default Machinery Design template based database profile.
