Custom Entity Properties

The custom entities are data collections, which are used to centralize the customer specific data into the one place where it is easy to find from. The customer specific data, stored into the custom entity properties, are managed by the Custom Entity Settings.

The data managed by the custom entities are stored only into the database. The entity data can be used to search documents, but any of the custom entity data are not shown in the SOLIDWORKS document properties.


Where to find the Custom Entity Property options:

The Custom Entity Property options are located in the CustomTools Profile Options.

Select the desired CustomTools product from the CustomTools Products box to display the further and the product specific instructions to find the Custom Entity Property options.

CustomTools Products:


Available options:

Add Group Add new group for custom entity properties.
Add Create a new Custom Entity Property. The custom entity properties are created with the same wizard as the other kind of custom properties.

Set the SetEntityData as the button function of the property used to act as the link into the customer data.
Edit Edit selected property.
Delete Removes the selected property.

All the CustomProperty Groups must have at least one CustomProperty. If the CustomProperty Group is empty when you are about to exit the CustomTools Options, you are prompted to create at least one CustomProperty under each empty property group.
