Property for Storing the BOM Quantity

This feature is similar to the

BOM quantity

option available in the

SOLIDWORKS File Properties

dialog

box. You can link a custom property for a model and its associated value to the BOM quantity in a

BOM. When the model appears in a BOM, the quantity is calculated as the value assigned to the

custom property multiplied by the number of parts.

For example, you can:



Create a custom property called

bom_amout



In the

CUSTOMTOOLS

,

Profile Options - Properties

, have

bom_amount

selected as

Property

used as Model BOM quantity



For a part called

oil

, that doesn’t necessarily have any geometry, assign the value 3.5 to this

custom property in

CUSTOMTOOLS

BOM Quantity

in the

Summary Information

With this configuration, in CUSTOMTOOLS

Export

as well in SOLIDWORKS BOM, for every unit of oil

listed in the BOM, the associated quantity is 3.5.
