Resolve Conflicts in Linked Properties

The Update Conflict dialog box appears when you open a document that has a linked custom property value, and both the value in the SOLIDWORKS document properties and the linked value in the external data source have been changed.

The conflict occurs when the linked value is first changed in the external database and then also changed in SOLIDWORKS. As a result, the Update Conflict dialog box appears.

From the property list, select all rows for which you want to retrieve the new value from the external data source. The current value stored in the SOLIDWORKS document is kept for all properties associated with list rows that are not selected when you click the OK button to resolve the conflicts and exit the Update Conflict dialog box.

NOTE: The conflict can occur only when you have the Enable updating of linked custom properties when value in the linked database has changed option selected in the Database Search Group settings that the linked custom property is using. Otherwise, the value retrieved once from the external source does not update even if the value in the external data source changes in the future.
  • Select/Unselect All. Select or clear selection of all rows in the found conflicts list.
