ATR CustomTools Documentation

ATR CustomTools has a context sensitive help system with several different ways to access it. Also, ATR CustomTools has a wide documentation available about the API, product enhancements and the new features presented in the ATR CustomTools versions. This help page describes the ways how you can access the ATR CustomTools Help system and the different documentations.

F1 key Press the F1 key to open ATR CustomTools help.
Help buttons

Open ATR CustomTools help by clicking the help button. The following kind of help buttons are in use in the ATR CustomTools user interface.

Icon Basic command button type of the Help button. This button type is frequently used, for example in the ATR CustomTools Options dialog box..
Icon This type of a button appear in title bar of the dialog box using Windows 7 or newer Windows operating system.
Icon This type of a button is used in the different left side panes of ATR CustomTools.
Icon

This type of a button is used on the ATR CustomTools Search pane in SOLIDWORKS add-in and ATR CustomTools Viewer. Also the floating Properties pane uses this kind of Help button.

The floating Properties pane appear when saving the document by the first time using the SOLIDWORKS Save command.

Icon This type of the Help button is used in the top right corner of the ATR CustomTools Administration and ATR CustomTools Viewer window next to the Manage ATR CustomTools Licenses command icon.

The Release notes and What's new documentations are shipped with all ATR CustomTools major version and service pack releases in Adobe PDF (*.pdf) format. PDF documents included in ATR CustomTools are located in the \lang\english folder in your ATR CustomTools installation directory.

For example, in the ATR CustomTools 2025 version installed in the default target path, the ATR CustomTools PDF documentation is located in the following path:

C:\Program Files\ATR Soft\CustomTools 2025\lang\english
NOTE: New versions of the ATR CustomTools PDF documentation are not included in the hotfixes or service pack specific update

The ATR CustomTools API documentation provides information and instructions in relation to the ATR CustomTools API. The ATR CustomTools API documentation is available as offline version in association to the SOLIDWORKS Add-in and, as online version in the ATR CustomTools online documentation.

To open the offline version of the ATR CustomTools API documentation, in SOLIDWORKS click Help, ATR CustomTools API Help. The ATR CustomTools API Help window appears.
