XSL/Script Export Profile

Profile name Specifies the name of the export profile.
Profile type Specifies the handler type of the export profile. Select the <XSL / Script> option to create an export profile for exporting the SOLIDWORKS model structure into an external file, or into an information system for which a special handler does not exist by default.
ThreeDots Opens the XSL/Script Export Settings dialog box to setup the additional options of your XSL/Script Export.
Quick Access Select this option to add the export profile as a Quick Access menu item under the Export button in the CUSTOMTOOLS Command Manager tab. When the menu item is selected, Export dialog is opened with this export profile selected.
Allow using in SOLIDWORKS PDM Select this option to allow usage of the selected Export Profile with the SOLIDWORKS PDM integration.

This option is not selectable in an environment that does not support the option. However in case that the type of your selected Export Profile just does not support the Allow using in SOLIDWORKS PDM option, you receive an error while attempting to exit the Export Profile dialog box.
Output path Specifies the destination path and the desired file name.

The menu contains pre-defined attributes that you can use to generate dynamic output path and filename.
Configurations to export Select the desired method to process configurations of the models included in your structure to export.
Language Specifies the content language for the output file.

NOTE: The ThreeDots button is available only when the selected Profile type is Excel Report or <XSL / Script>.
Top level only Process only the documents in the top level of an assembly.
Parts only Process only the part documents of the assemblies.
Indented assemblies Processes all documents which belongs to the same entity in hierarchical order. Document list hierarchy in the output document is generated based on the source model's structure.
Accumulate quantities Select this option to calculate quantities in respect of the parent component quantities (which has its quantity calculated in respect of its parent etc).

Example: A top level assembly has two instances of the same sub-assembly and once instance of a part, and the sub-assembly has two instances of the same part. Traditional structural quantities would be 2 for the sub-assembly, 1 for the part under top assembly, and 2 for the part under sub-assembly. Accumulate quantities answers to "How many of this component is needed to manufacture all of its parent components". It should not be mixed with total quantities needed in respect of the top assembly (not available for Indented BOM Type). To manufacture 1 main assembly, you'd need 2 sub-assemblies and 1 part; and to manufacture those 2 sub-assemblies, you'd need 4 parts. So the accumulated quantity of the part is 4 under the sub-assembly and 1 under the top assembly, while its total quantity in Parts Only listing would be 5.
Include drawings Select this option to process drawings related to the models in file conversions executed on the structure export.
Include weldment cut list items Include the cut list items associated to the weldment components into the Export by selecting this option.
Detailed cut list Select this option while you also have the Include weldment cut list items option selected to include the weldments' individual structural members on the export too.
Include sheet metal cut list items Cut list items of the sheet metal parts are included in the Export while you have this option selected.
Include solid body cut list items Include the cut list items of your solid body components into the Export by selecting this option.

Select the desired file conversion rules to be executed during the structure export process in association to the selected Export Profile.

Display configurations of parts as separate items Separates the different configurations of the document to an individual items.
Display configurations of parts as one item Parts appears as one no matter how many configuration they has.
Always show components of subassemblies ignoring the “Child component display when used as a subassembly” setting Select this option to ignore selection of the Child component display when used as a subassembly options in Properties of the SOLIDWORKS assembly configurations. While you have this option selected, all supported components of the subassemblies are always included in the CUSTOMTOOLS structure export.
Always include 'Excluded from BOM' components, ignoring the 'Exclude from BOM' settings Select this option to ignore SOLIDWORKS component setting Exclude from Bill of Materials, and so include them to CUSTOMTOOLS structure Export by default. Having this setting on will disable changing the Exclude from BOM setting for the models via Export dialog.
User property scopes to be exported Select the desired user defined Property scopes to be exported on the structure export.
Open output file(s) once completed Select this option to open the output files of the structure export with the system's default program assigned for the output file type.

The following attributes are available for the dynamic output path and filename generation in the Export Profiles:

Active/Referenced Configuration Include only the active/referenced configuration of the model in the export. Using this option lets you to ignore the model configurations obsolete for the exported structure. Ignoring the obsolete configurations would save a bit your time while exporting your model structures into another information systems like ERP or PDM but, it also helps you to optimize the structures imported to the external system as the model configurations are not included in structures they does not belong to.
All Configurations Include all configurations of the models exported, in the process output.
All Top Level Configurations Include only main level of the model configurations from the source documents, in the process output. Using this option, the child configurations of the model configurations like for example the derived configurations are ignored in the export.

CUSTOMTOOLS Export Profile could work in association to a CUSTOMTOOLS script add-in. CUSTOMTOOLS script add-ins are maintained using the Manage Scripts feature located in the CUSTOMTOOLS Administration Tool. The script add-ins are very flexible and they could be fully customized based on your needs.

NOTE: CUSTOMTOOLS script add-ins are always implemented by the customer's separate order. For that reason, some extra costs may apply. Please contact the CUSTOMTOOLS Sales Team for the further information.
