Handling the Changed Filenames

The Changed Filename dialog box appear when the Property used as the filename has been changed. Use that dialog box to determine how to handle the changes on the document's filename.

Changes on the filenames are detected based on the document's Property values and the Project options of the currently active profile.


Available saving options:

Save As Select this option to save the file as by using the new filename.

If the model has one or more related drawings, performing the Save as action prompts you to copy the drawings as well.
Save As Copy Select this option to save the document as copy with the new filename. Saving document as copy does not cause any changes on the original file.

If the model has one or more related drawings, performing the Save as Copy action prompts you to copy the drawings as well.
Rename Select this options to rename the existing document. The new filename is determined by the Property used as the filename.
Rename And Move Renames the original file and moves it to the desired new location.
Ignore The selected or active file is saved without applying the changed file naming rules.
Ingore All The files are saved without applying the changed file naming rules.

Drawing references:

When you save as, save as copy, rename or rename and move a model which Property used as filename has been changed, CUSTOMTOOLS prompts you to also copy the referenced drawings of the model to keep the file references valid. The Copy Referenced Drawings dialog appears in that case as a prompt.

Use the Copy Referenced Drawings dialog box to select and copy the desired drawings referring to the model to keep the necessary file references valid.

Info NOTE: Drawings deleted from the hard disk by using the Windows Explorer does not appear into the Copy Referenced Drawings dialog box.
