Database Upgrade Wizard

CUSTOMTOOLS Database upgrade wizard is used to upgrade the CUSTOMTOOLS database version when the functionalities between CUSTOMTOOLS features and the database or the database structure has been changed since the previous version.

The CUSTOMTOOLS database have to be upgraded when you have installed the new major release, or a new service pack of CUSTOMTOOLS.

NOTE: A CUSTOMTOOLS database created with an official release version of CUSTOMTOOLS, could be upgraded only with a newer official release version of CUSTOMTOOLS.

Where to find the Database Upgrade Wizard:

The CUSTOMTOOLS Database Upgrade Wizard is available only in the CUSTOMTOOLS Administration Tool. The Upgrade command that opens the wizard is located in the Database Settings group of the Database tab in ribbon.

The Upgrade command becomes available when you try to login to a database which version is older than required by your current version of CUSTOMTOOLS. In that case, click Upgrade to open the Database Upgrade Wizard.



Following user roles are needed to upgrade the Database schema:

System Administrator The administrator rights for your workstation that has the database installed.
Server Administrator Database server administrator.

If your CUSTOMTOOLS Database is located on some separate database server, you need to have an administrator user rights to that server to be able to upgrade database schema.

NOTE: The CUSTOMTOOLS database schema cannot be upgraded to the latest version from a pre-release version of CUSTOMTOOLS.
