Creating ERP Linked CustomProperty

In this tutorial your target is to learn how to make a custom property that value is linked to an external data source.

During this tutorial you will use the following features of CustomTools:

• Attributes. Item that makes link between CustomProperties and the SOLIDWORKS document properties.
• Database Search Groups. Profile specific options of CustomTools that are used to setup links to an external database where you can retrieve the custom property value from.
• CustomProperty Wizard. Wizard to create and edit custom properties.

NOTE: A connection to some external database is required in order to complete this tutorial. If you do not have the link yet you can create some by completing the External Microsoft Access Database or External SQL Database tutorial related to the CustomTools Administration Tool.
