Get Files From EPDM to Import

This tutorial guides you through how to get the Solid Edge files from the EPDM vault to convert them to SOLIDWORKS format with help of the CustomTools Import feature. You can use this tutorial also to learn how to get SOLIDWORKS files from the EPDM vault to the CustomTools Import feature for importing the files to the CustomTools database.

An example used in this tutorial goes through how to get Solid Edge part files from the EPDM vault and convert them with the CustomTools Import.

In this tutorial, you need the following tools:

• SOLIDWORKS Enterprise PDM Search
• Microsoft Excel
• CustomTools Import feature. A CustomTools feature used to convert Solid Edge files to the SOLIDWORKS format. The Import feature is also used to import documents' reference data into the CustomTools database.

NOTE: You need to have the file extensions of the known file types shown in Windows Explorer Folder Options to get proper paths for the import process from the EPDM vault search.
